I had a pleasant stay at Catalonia Goya, thanks to its prime location in the Salamanca district. The comfortable and clean rooms made for a restful experience, though the entrance did not impress and initial check-in felt a bit cramped. Overall, the friendly staff and delicious room service options balanced out these minor inconveniences.

The Premium Double Room I stayed in was quite comfortable, featuring soundproofing and a small sofa. However, I was surprised by the unexpected layout of the king-sized bed, which was actually two single beds pushed together. Overall, the room cleanliness and modern bathroom were highlights.
Service

The staff were attentive and friendly, assisting me during check-in and providing helpful suggestions throughout my stay. They even stored my luggage securely after check-out, making my day much easier.

The hotel’s location is spot on, just a short walk from the fantastic El Retiro Park and several dining options. Being outside the busier city center while still being well-connected by public transport made exploration a breeze. I enjoyed the quieter atmosphere in Salamanca.

I highly recommend ordering sushi from room service, as it’s provided by The Sushi Shop and is some of the best I've tasted. Although I noticed breakfast options were available, I opted to explore local cafes instead, which turned out to be a great decision.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel boasts a range of amenities like a mini bar stocked with local drinks. However, the lobby area felt cramped at times, and I wasn't overly impressed with the bar's view. Nevertheless, the overall facilities were well-maintained and convenient.

I had a decent stay at Catalonia Goya, mainly thanks to its fantastic location right in the heart of Salamanca. The room was spacious and the bathroom was recently renovated, which was a nice touch. However, the service could use some improvement, especially regarding the breakfast pricing mix-up, which left a bad taste. Overall, not bad for the price, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

My room was spacious with a nice big TV and coffee-making amenities. The bed was comfy, although it moved more easily than I'd like. The room also had a large shower, but I missed a bathtub as advertised.
Service

The staff was generally friendly and helpful, but I encountered a frustrating situation with the breakfast pricing that didn't reflect the information I received upon check-in.

The hotel is perfectly located, just steps from a metro station and within a short walk to Retiro Park. It made exploring Madrid super convenient.
Dining

Breakfast options were varied and fresh, but at €17, I found it a bit overpriced, especially given the confusion about the price. I'd recommend checking local options for a better deal.
Facilities

Amenities like room service and a well-stocked mini bar were a plus, and the overall cleanliness was impressive, contributing to a comfortable environment.

My stay at Catalonia Goya was pleasant overall, thanks to its amazing location and friendly staff. The breakfast options were impressive, but I did experience some minor issues with noise from the corridor. Additionally, the room size was a bit smaller than expected for a boutique hotel. 🌆🍽️

My stay at Catalonia Goya was just okay. On the bright side, the location was spot-on for exploring Madrid, with tons of shops and restaurants nearby. However, my room felt a bit cramped and the decor definitely needed a refresh. I did enjoy a decent breakfast, but I ran into some minor issues with cleanliness and the air conditioning.
Rooms

The room was clean but small, and the decor was outdated. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly, which was a bummer given the heat. The bed was comfortable, though, and I appreciated the nice bathroom amenities.
Service

The staff were friendly and accommodating, which made a big difference. They let me store my luggage after checkout, which was super helpful. Still, I felt like they could’ve done more about the issues I raised.

I loved the location in Salamanca! It was close to the metro and surrounded by great shops and dining options, making it easy to get around. Plus, it’s only a short metro ride to the main attractions.
Dining

Breakfast was solid with a good variety, but it could’ve been better if it were available earlier on the weekends. I liked that they offered decent options that suited all tastes.
Facilities

The facilities were decent overall, but the small lift was a pain during busy moments. The gym looked fine, but I didn’t use it. Having daily housekeeping was a plus, but I wished for more options in the room.

I had a mixed experience at Catalonia Goya. The location was fantastic, right in the vibrant Salamanca area, which made it easy for me to explore many of Madrid's attractions. However, the room was quite small, dark, and in need of a refresh. The noise from the street was disruptive at times, particularly with late-night trash collection. Overall, while I appreciated the excellent breakfast and the friendliness of the staff, the room comfort and decor left something to be desired.
Rooms
5.0
The room was small and dark, overlooking other rooms. It needed an upgrade to feel more inviting. Additionally, I had issues with water on the floor when showering, and there were signs of mold in the bathroom.
Service
6.0
The staff tried to be helpful, but I felt they lacked the authority to assist with my complaints about the room and noise issues. Communication was friendly, though it sometimes didn't lead to effective solutions.
Location

The Salamanca area is a great choice for exploring Madrid; I loved being accessible to shops, restaurants, and cultural sites. However, it is a business district, which felt less vibrant than other parts of the city.
Dining

Breakfast was a highlight, with a great variety of food options. I enjoyed the fresh selections and made-to-order items, which really made mornings pleasant.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel had some nice amenities, like a bar and room service, I found the lack of certain items in the room, like shampoo and bottled water, disappointing. Additionally, the noise insulation could be improved.
